After doing my 30 Day Challenge, I am back to posting about how to act and simple tips now that spring is coming! Keep an eye out for an annual spring cleaning piece this week, but for now…enjoy this simple reminder of how to act!

1. You know you are done with dating when you find a night on your couch more enticing than going out on a date with some cute guy. #singlegirlproblems #foreveralone #ilovemycouch

2. Only I would notice when a character on Chicago PD is wearing an Eileen Fischer sweater we carry at Nordstrom… #retailproblems #iliveatmyjob #isoldthatsweatertomanyladies

3. That awkward moment when that one guy you didn’t like, who started making out with you, texts you randomly on a Sunday night when you’re at work. #umwhat #pleasedonttalktome #imadeitclearidontlikeyou #thelookonmyfacewaspriceless

4. There is a rare moment in life when you are watching Laguna Beach reruns with your best friend and you realize the cute guy you went on two dates with looks like a Jewish Stephen Colletti. #celebritydoppelganger #lookalike #omg

5. That one gay guy at work who you look at and instantly want as one of your best friends and there’s no Taylor Swift song to completely capture exactly how you feel. #hewouldfitinwithourclique #omgilovehim #youbelongwithme

6. Oh, I am sorry, but I DO care about Nina Dobrev’s dating life. First Ian Somerhalder and now Michael Trevino?? I’m living vicariously through her! #hotties #iwanttobeher #TVDproblems

7. That awkward moment in Philosophy class when you’re sitting next to people you used to be in choir with and then they start talking about how many people quit. #oops #youknowimrightoverhereright #pleasestoptalking

8. Journaling is the greatest form of self-expression. It makes you realize things what you really want and it’s a great way to admit your mistakes to yourself. After all, they’re in writing staring back at you. #writing #perfect #usemarkersinsteadofpen #creativity

9. I don’t hate everyone in Skagit Valley. I hate the excuses they make for themselves, the complaining that is constant. Everyone there has just as much a fair shot as everyone else, and in some ways, they have advantages. Why not take them instead of complain about them? #negativeenergy #keepingpositivevibes

10. I have this outrageous obsession with shopping for clothes at boutiques lately. #ineedtogoshopping #fashionismypassion #icanthelpit

Day 12: Bullet Your Whole Day

Normally, I write my 30 day challenges during the morning so then, I don’t forget. So, I’ll bullet how my day is going to be because really — I’m not going to stray from this schedule with so much to do for finals. Although, I don’t understand the reason for this prompt, but it’s a challenge, right?

  • Get ready for work: This normally takes me 30 minutes since my hair is ready for just a quick straighten. I still have to figure out what to wear to work, which could take a little thinking.
  • Drive to work: This takes fifteen minutes since my easy route is under construction right now. I’ll more than likely play something upbeat because of spring coming.
  • Work: 11 to 7. I’m by myself today in Petite’s too! So any customers that come in today are mine and mine alone. It will be nice. I like working with other people, but the majority of the time, I actually like working alone.
  • Change/Dinner: I’m running home after work in order to change into something comfortable and then quickly make dinner before running to my group meeting tonight. For dinner? Pasta and chicken. A classic, easy to make, and filling. I love carbs.
  • Group Meeting: My group for Africa and Communication have a presentation tomorrow on how Media Communication with Gender Propaganda caused the Sexual Violence of Women throughout the Rwandan Genocide. It’s been really interesting researching and finding the things for these. It should be a good presentation, I hope.
  • Home: I will probably finish up any loose ends on my part with the presentation, turn in an assignment online due tomorrow, and then read until I get too tired.

I have nothing fancy going on tonight, probably because of the fact that this week is my last week of classes and I have so much stuff that is due, and THEN I leave for a trip on Friday for the weekend. It’s busy around here for me. I’m definitely ready for spring break and definitely ready for winter quarter to be over. It’s been a long quarter quite honestly.

Debriefing My Summer Bucket List

Right before classes ended, I wrote a summer bucket list last spring. Now that summer is basically over, despite the fact that I don’t start classes until the 25th, it is time to go over the summer bucket list and figure out what I did and did not do, and maybe I should put onto my Fall bucket list.

1. Paint a Chevron Print : Sadly, this is not happen. I never got around to painting, especially with my busy schedule. However, this is still on my fall bucket list.

2. Lose ten pounds in the month of May: I did not lose ten pounds in May, HOWEVER I did lose 12 pounds by the beginning of August. With that saying, I lost weight – that’s all that matters.

3. Meet new friends at Clipper this summer: This DEFINITELY happened. I met some of the greatest friends I have to this day at Clipper this summer. Some of whom I am planning on moving in with too!

4. Go to a UW party: This did not happen, instead I went to a lot of Clipper parties with my friends.

5. Go completely local and organic: For the most part I’ve done that, but this didn’t happen this summer. Food is hard to buy when you’re really poor.

6. Buy a new Coach purse: Instead of a Coach, I bought a Longchamp.

7. Buy a pair of Tory Burch Flats: Yeah…. Didn’t happen.

8. Completely redo my wardrobe: Now, I did a decent start of a wardrobe, but mine needs a lot of work after being in Pullman for two years. So fall is the perfect chance to get a start on that. Especially with all of the cute boutiques in the Seattle area.

9. Find the perfect skin regiment: I did do this! I found great cleanser, exfoliator, and a fantastic moisturizer that makes my skin look even better!

10. Meet someone unexpected: I met my unexpected people. The greatest thing that happened this summer was not by meeting someone, but knowing someone and allowing the unexpected to happen.

11. Learn something new about myself: I learned many new things about myself this summer, but the mot memorable was to trust my instincts – those gut instincts tend to be right and I need to listen to them.

12. Tan naturally: Obviously

13. Become best friends with one of my new roommates: Sadly, this did not happen, but I did become best friends and made myself some future roommates!

14. Go to Portland: I haven’t done this yet, but I am within the next couple weeks!

15. Find the perfect bathing suit: I’ve been so busy focusing on work and building up my closet and so forth that I haven’t found one! This is on my spring bucket list for sure!

16. Start bike riding: Yeah, didn’t do this.

17. Go to a yoga class: Ditto as above.

18. Read the New Yorker regularly: This I was able to do! I love this magazine, definitely a good bucket list item to have!

19. Go to a local concert: Not enough hours in the summer, but going on my fall bucket list for sure!

20. Find the perfect breakfast place in Seattle: This one I did without even thinking about the bucket list. For my mom’s birthday, we tried Oddfellows on Capitol Hill, near Eliot Bay Books. It is INCREDIBLE. Definitely my favorite breakfast spot.

21. Read “Ten Little Indians” by Sherman Alexie: It is in my nightstand and being read lately! I’ll make sure to tell ya how I like it!

22. Find the perfect desk for school: I am on the hunt as we speak!

23. Order all of the Batman the Animated Series on DVD: Yeah….not enough money for this.

24. Fall in love with grapefruit: This easily happened within the weeks of summer beginning.

25. Get comfortable with my personality and my body: This happened. I got comfortable with who I am as a person, realizing my strengths and weaknesses. With that, losing weight as helped my really become happy with my body, but also realizing that I have work to do yet.

26. Fall in love with healthy food: I haven’t eaten fast food in months – I win.

27. Start cooking: As much as I wanted this one to start, it didn’t. I have a great kitchen, I’m just never home. So with this fall coming up, I’m hoping to really be able to cook.

28. Begin living holistically: Meh. I really need to be better about taking vitamins.

29. Finish Grey’s Anatomy: I’m lame and didn’t even do this.

30. See more independent films: Thanks to one of my really good friends who loves independent films, this was made possible this summer.

So this was my summer! Keep an eye out for Fall’s Bucket List!

You’re Forgetting How to Act Part 10

1. Lunch bento boxes are the greatest invention since the iPad.

2. Vintage t-shirts and PINK sweatshirts with a good pair of jeans is the greatest outfit for a casual look.

3. True friends are the friends who you can discuss and debate over what you want to eat after work.

4. I really want a record player with a bunch of my favorite classic rock albums and my favorite albums from my favorite independent bands.

5. The biggest no-no in the work place is telling your coworkers offensive views when concerning race, religion, and politics. Please have a filter and keep those opinions to yourself.

6. It takes time to fall in love with fruits and vegetables, but once you do, it will make your body feel good and make you feel good about your body.

7. There is no such thing as too many books on fashion, style, and design.

8. After an exhausting day of work, coloring is the greatest activity to do in order to unwind.

9. Don Draper has a class and style that all men should have.

10. Be young. It’s easy to get caught up in all of the adult responsibilities, but remember your age and remember to ACT your age often. It’s okay to be mature for your age, but that does not mean you should skip out on it.
